In America, the citizen is the center of power. It’s difficult, and it may take time, but we as citizens have a remarkable ability to move policy in Washington, D.C. in the direction we desire. At American Legacy Center, our goal is to make that easier.
Working with a variety of respected, center-right figures with important messages to communicate, we develop and manage multimedia advocacy projects to help influence the national narrative around the most important issues of the day.
Fight for the Court
Phil Robertson, Chairman
The 2016 election was not just about who would sit in the Oval Office for the next 4 years, but who would sit on the U.S. Supreme Court for the next generation. Throughout the year, we reached millions of voters to remind them about this important fact, and explain how the Court’s decisions could impact a wide range of vital issues, from religious liberty to the 2nd Amendment. Ultimately, over 20 percent of voters in 2016 said appointments to the U.S. Supreme Court were “the most important factor” in their decision.
Fight for the Court
Ben Carson, Former Chairman
With the election over, Fight for the Court saw a change of leadership as well as a shift in its mission. With the appointment of Neil Gorsuch to the bench, we made the case for his confirmation, and explained why he, just like the late Antonin Scalia, would respect the original meaning of the Constitution instead of legislating from the bench.
Leading from the Front
Kris "Tanto" Paronto, Chairman
Radical Islam is at war with America, and 2016 was our opportunity to turn the page on the Obama-Clinton doctrine of “leading from behind” and actually fight to win. Through ongoing digital advertising and a battleground state townhall tour, we sounded the alarm about a dire threat, explained the failures of our current policies, and made the case for new policies that would keep America safe. Since the election of President Trump, we have aimed to hold the saboteurs of his counterterrorism policies accountable, from radical judges to the permanent, entrenched bureaucracy, while continuing to advocate for the policies we believe in.
At the heart of President Trump’s “America First” immigration agenda is the promise to re-establish the institutional principle of sovereignty. For too long, the Left’s vision of open borders and radical multiculturalism has undermined our safety, security, and the rule of law. President Trump has pledged to secure our borders with a wall, cut off funding to outlaw sanctuary cities, and end the wrongheaded, PC-driven policies like chain migration and the diversity lottery, which criminals and terrorists have exploited to harm and kill American citizens. For the safety and security of the American people, the mission of Sovereignty Now is to help implement this common-sense agenda.
Enforce the Law
Laura Wilkerson, Chairman
For many years, politicians have failed to enforce our immigration laws. While this dereliction of duty has undermined the rule of law, it has also had tragic, real life consequences. In 2010, 17-year old Josh Wilkerson was brutally beaten and murdered by an illegal alien from Belize. As Chairman of Enforce the Law, Josh’s mom Laura has pushed for politicians in Washington, D.C. to do their job, plain and simple, by enforcing the immigration laws on the books.
